New procedures starting June 1st

At Urban Edge Hair Group, we care deeply about the health and safety of all of our clients and staff. We have gone through Worksafe BC and Health Authority guidelines and have implemented protocols that go above and beyond the recommendations. We have made the following changes to help us navigate through this challenging time. 

Please read carefully so you know what to do and what to expect.

·         Our team has updated our previous training on sanitation, disinfection and infection control and have at least one new certification each.

·         The salon will be cleaned and disinfected throughout the day.

·         We will wear masks at all times, gloves and face shields will be used when necessary.

·         We will not come to work if we have any signs of illness and will be getting our temperatures taken when we arrive at the salon.

·         We have installed a sneeze guard at the front desk and barriers in-between stations where needed for extra protection.

·         We have installed touchless hand sanitizer, soap and paper towel dispensers.

·         Our Healthpro air cleaner will be running continuously

·         We will practice proper hand hygiene at all times and social distancing when possible.

·         Stylist’s tools and work areas will be disinfected between each client.

·         We will reduce the number of client in the salon to one guest per stylist at a time.

New procedures for your next visit:

·         If you have any signs of illness or anyone in your household has symptoms of COVID-19 which include: fever, sore throat, cough, sneezing, please cancel and reschedule your appointment. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who shows any symptoms of cold or flu.

·         You must have a scheduled appointment, no walk-ins.

·         If you arrive early for your appointment please wait in your vehicle as there is no longer a waiting area in the salon.

·         Let us know when you arrive by calling the front desk or knocking on the door. When your stylist is ready, you will be let in.

·         No family or friends are to accompany you inside the salon unless you need assistance. Your caregiver will need to wait outside of the premises until your service is finished.

·         Masks that loop around the ears are mandatory. If you don’t have one, or forget yours, a mask will be provided for $2.00

·         Please limit personal belongings to essentials that can fit on your lap during your service.

·         When entering and leaving the salon you will need to use our hand sanitizing station or wash your hands in the restroom. 

·         Please remember to practice physical distancing at all times.

·         No magazines or beverages will be available. If you need a drink of water we will provide water in a single use cup. Feel free to bring your own beverage and reading material if you will be here for a longer service.

·         Please limit contact with products in the retail area. If you are not quite sure what you need, please as for assistance.

As we begin to organize our appointment we ask for your patience, kindness and understanding. We know that everyone is eager to come in right away but we have over 2 months of appointments to reschedule. Our time is also limited by the amount of people allowed in the salon at one time as well as an extra 15 minutes between each service for disinfecting. Sorry, there will be not squeezing in appointments for the time being.

If you have any questions regarding the new procedures please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are committed as always to provide the best customer service and the most comfortable and safe visit for all of our valued guests. We hope that in the future some of these protocols will no longer be needed, but no doubt, some will just become part of our new normal.

On a final note, we are so excited to be back at the job that we are passionate about, and mostly, we are happy to get back and connect with all of you. We have truly missed you!
